Three Turner students beaten

ALBANY — Three Turner Job Corps students told police they were beaten by a mob of men early Saturday, police reports show.

Around 2:15 a.m. Saturday, Gerber Espinal, Charles Pierce and Parris Williams told police they were walking back to Turner Jobs Corps from a gas station on Maple Street when they were approached by a group of 30 young men, according to police reports.

The men told police that the group just starting beating on them for no apparent reason but that they did manage to run away, the report says.

Officers Roosevelt Kearney and Richard Williams noted in their report that the men were covered in blood and were complaining of aches and bruises.

Williams, according to the report, received a deep cut to the back of his neck after being struck with a beer bottle. They also noticed he had a piece of glass stuck in his ear and that shards were scattered throughout his hair.

Espinal reportedly had a cut across his nose and a swollen left eye, while Pierce had a bloody nose and was complaining of aches, according to the report.

The men told police that they didn’t think they would be able to identify the men who attacked them and that they couldn’t give the officers a description of their attackers, the report states.
