Benjamin Franklin Palmer

CAMILLA — Benjamin Franklin Palmer, 84, of Camilla died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at Parker- Bramlett Funeral Home with interment in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Rev. Rick Williams will officiate.

Pallbearers will include Dr. James W. Palmer, W.D. Palmer, III, Daniel J. Baker, William P, Baker, Joseph Howard Palmer, Richard Coleman, Alton Collins, and Randall Rehberg. Born October 8, 1923 in Mitchell County, Mr. Palmer was the son of the late William Daniel Palmer, Sr. and Julia Spence Palmer. He was a veteran of the US Merchant Marines and Army. Mr. Palmer retired after 40 years service with Georgia Power Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Camilla.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lois Palmer of Camilla; a daughter, Millie Truluck & husband, Bill, of Hinsonton; a son, Michael Benjamin Palmer of Camilla; one brother, W.D. Palmer, Jr. and wife, Pauline, of Camilla; one sister, Florence Baker & husband, Jack, of Sale City; one sister-in-law, Celestine Palmer of Thomasville; one brother-in-law, Jimmy Clark of Camilla; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 1 - 2 p.m. Saturday, one hour prior to services, at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home.

Sarah Rathel Sheffield

CAMILLA — Sarah Rathel Sheffield, 77, of Newton died Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at her residence.

Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 11 at Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt, Ga. The Rev. Charles Odom and the Rev. Mark Willis will officiate.

Born October 26, 1930 in Baker County, Mrs. Sheffield was the daughter of the late George Thomas and Nell Hudson Rathel. She was married to the late William C. “Bill” Sheffield. Mrs. Sheffield was a homemaker and worked for Newton Manufacturing Co. for 35 years. She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of God.

Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Sheffield of Newton and Dayle Parker & husband, Charles Ennis, of Newton; two sons, William Steve Sheffield & wife, Lisa Odom Sheffield, of Moultrie and Martin Sheffield of Panama City Beach, FL.; two sisters, Faye Miller & husband, Bill, of Conyers and Bonnie Rahak and husband, Joe, of Orlando, FL.; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Julia Dazel Davis Treat

PELHAM — Julia Dazel Davis Treat, 87, of Pelham died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home in Pelham. Visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2008 at Jamerson- Braswell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 11 A.M. at East Pelham Baptist Church with interment in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. The Rev. Herman Hampton will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jeff Powell, Kent Rich, Richard Treat, Jonathan Treat and Paxton Webb.

Mrs. Treat was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Leroy Treat, a daughter, Rebecca Ratecliff and her parents Tom Berrian and Clifford Underwood Davis.

She was born in Hopeful, GA February 21, 1921. She was a retired interior decorator and was a member of East Pelham Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons, Gary L Treat and wife, Diana, of Pelham, Larry E. Treat and wife, Patricia, of Pelham, James Treat and wife, Sandy, of Clermont, FL., grandchildren, Alicia Courtmancke, Jennifer Maxwell, Michelle Walsh, Richard E. Treat, Michelle Treat, Jon Treat, Cole Ratcliff and Julia Ratecliff and ten grandchildren.
