Essie V. Humphries Lane

PELHAM — Essie V. Humphries Lane, 88, of Pelham died May 19, 2008 at Albany Health Care, Albany. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 P.M. at Jamerson-Braswell Funeral Home Chapel in Pelham with interment in Pelham City Cemetery. Rev. Doug Hall will officiate. Pallbearers will be Stan Humphries, Steven Humphries, David Rackley, Dean Humphries, Russ Humphries and Steven Bible.

Essie was born October 1, 1919 in Grady Co. to the late Hillery B. and Ada Bentley Humphries. She was a retired seamtress for Wilgree Manufacturing and she was a member of Proctor Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

Survivors include fourteen nephews and nieces, numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edgar Lane, brothers, Ellis Humphries, Jessie Humphries and L.J. Humphries, sisters, Bonnie Lane and Ollie V. Crosby.

Will Middleton

BLAKELY — Will Middleton, 77, of 3146 Arrow Lane, Clarksville, TN died May 19, 2008 at Vanderbilt Univ. Medical Center, Nashville, TN. Funeral services will be Saturday 11 A.M. at the Blakely Free Will Baptist Church with interment in Blakely Cemetery. Rev. Fred Hersey and Rev. Danny Edmonds will officiate.

Mr. Middleton was born May 6, 1931 in Miller Co.. to the late Fred Middleton and Alice Cleveland Middleton. He was in the US Air Force and was a retired Shipping foreman with GA Pacific Paper Co. He was a member of the Little Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Genene Edmonds Middleton of Clarksville, TN, a daughter, Stacey Middleton Latham and husband Randy of Clarksville, TN., a son, Brian Middleton of Clarksville, TN., a brother, Larry Middleton and his wife Mary Ann of Blakely, a sister, Betty Sue Daniels and husband John of Moultrie.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night from 6-8 P.M. and at other times at 1st Free Will Baptist Church Parsonage.
