Danny Carter
Managing Editor

Danny is No. 2 in command of news operations. He directs overall daily coverage, conducts news meetings, directs wire news coverage, writes a weekly business column and coordinates NewsLink, a unique Page 1 component that keeps readers updated on ongoing topics of broad interest. Carlton Fletcher
Metro Editor

Carlton is the editor for local news coverage and writes a weekly column that appears in Sunday's editorial pages. With more than 25 years experience, Carlton has been a reporter and editor for sports, news and features at various newspapers throughout Southwest Georgia, including more than eight years at The Albany Herald, and was interim Director of Public Information Services at Albany State University prior to his return to The Herald in November 2006. Ethan Fowler
Features Editor

Ethan is in charge of the newspaper's feature section – SouthView, which includes people profiles, food, music, faith, family, travel, health, home, gardening, weekend activity previews and Southwest Georgia civic clubs. Birth and wedding announcements can be found Sundays. The Seattle native has more than 14 years of journalism experience, coming to The Herald after a two-and-a-half-year stint in northern Virginia. Danny Aller
Sports Editor

Danny Aller joined The Albany Herald as sports editor in February 2007. Danny is a Wakulla, Fla., native, who came to The Herald from the Pensacola (Fla.) News Journal, where he worked as a page designer, copy editor and writer. Danny also has previous experience as an assistant sports editor, a sports editor and a freelance writer with various newspapers in Florida, as well as Web-based sports reporting. He has a bachelor’s degree in English with a focus in creative writing from Florida State University, with minors in communications from FSU and in journalism through a dual enrollment program with Florida A&M University.
